While Mexico loves to celebrate any occasion, Cinco de Mayo has special meaning. Just as the United States celebrates its independence on July 4, Mexico celebrates her independence from France on May 5. While Mexico’s actual Independence Day was September 16, the celebration comes earlier with all of Mexico celebrating. One of the biggest celebration cities in Puebla located to the east of Mexico City.
While there are celebrations in the United States of Cinco De Mayo, what better place to celebrate than where the battle was fought and the citizens of Mexico remember those who sacrificed and fought to give them independence!
Be a part of the celebration and heritage and pride at Cinco de Mayo on May 5th!
April 16 – May 6, 2009
Aguascalientes, Mexico
Musical shows, rodeos, and mariachi bands are just a small part of what the San Marcos Fair brings to Aguascalientes for three to four weeks beginning April 16 and concluding May 6. This fair which began as a livestock fair, is now host to over 250,000 guests every year. The events are widespread with activities ranging from bullfighting and cockfighting (which some might want to avoid), to shows, parades and even beauty pageants. Yes indeed, the San Marcos Fair is packed with entertainment for every culture, age and individual. Make your plans to attend!
